There is something freeing when you get to the point of maturity where you pay little to no attention to what other people think of you. I am not talking about not caring about your self worth as to wear Spongebob pajamas while shopping at Wal-Mart. But when you are secure in yourself to not let the thoughts of others, especially critics, dictate your thoughts and actions. Their objections mean nothing to you. More importantly you free yourself from the trap of conformity. Society wants lifeless drones that all think and act alike and do as they are told. There are many people that think they are free but are the ones that are wrapped into this cult-like thinking the most. When you remove yourself from this mentality you are able to look at things from a different prospective and start asking real questions. It emboldens you to say what is on your mind. This removes the control that the system has over you and will spread into other areas of your life.
